Anna Hazare Quotes
( Anna Hazare (born 15 June 1937) is an Indian social activist and a
prominent leader in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, using
nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Anna
Hazare is also the man behind the development and structuring of Ralegan
Siddhi, a village in Maharashtra, India. Anna Hazare was awarded the
Padma Bhushan—the third-highest civilian award—by the Government of
India in 1992 for his efforts in establishing this village as a model
village for others. )

- Youth must stand up for the country.
- As long as there is life in my body, I will keep protesting.

Because India lives in it’s villages. If villagers had adequate food
and adequate work, then even if they had lesser facilities in
villages, they would not leave villages and migrate to cities. This
would change the economic condition of villages.

without exploiting nature and humans is sustainable development. But
development that happens through means of exploitation is absolutely
unethical development.

of India.

supporters hurled dirtiest abuses against me, I have kept a CD of
the same for my record. At an appropriate time, I will play it
before the public. They are free to continue abusing me, it does not
hurt me at all. But when the national property is damaged, I am hurt
and feel very sad.
- People talk in the air. They don’t say what is wrong with Team
Anna. The allegation against Kiran Bedi of corruption in airfare
money, even if true, the money was not used for her family.
- Kiran Bedi has dedicated her life to work for many causes
without expectation of gain. There is no personal greed in her. If
she has used it for the people, it cannot be called wrong.
- Politicans and social workers are different. Politicians are
filled with greed. There is hardly one politician without such a
trait. Contesting elections needs money. How do people get money for
it? We do not believe politicians when they say they have taken
money for social work. Take Arvind Kejriwal. He did not use public
funds for personal gain. He is an IIT student, he could have earned
in lakhs. His mother and wife are teachers. His tyag (scarifice) is
important. There is no link to corruption in his case.
- The voter is not alert. Today, in villages, the illiterate man
is misled if he is shown a Rs 500 note. The drunkard is promised
liquor. I see how much money is being spent on elections. A person
who stays in a temple, how will he contest elections?
